Hejka has said that assisting artists in manifesting their own creations has always been the most gratifying experience for him.
He has found it most rewarding to assist in upgrading the quality of surface being created upon through his work. This, in turn, has the opportunity to elevate the brand, work and aesthetic of the artist.
In 2014, artist Glenn Barr asked if Hejka would be able to procure some wooden panels for him to paint on. Exploring this idea further, Hejka has since been able to expand upon this first request, shaping it into his current business.
Today, Hejka creates fine art surfaces out of his Detroit based workshop- Hejka Studios. These include panels and canvas stretch bars in a plethora of shapes and sizes, as well as custom made-to-order pieces per the client’s request.
In Hejka’s ten and counting years of experience in art handling and install he has participated in a smattering of different showcases across the country. Most notably he has been the Logistics Director of Murals in the Market in Detroit since 2015. His other endeavors include POW! WOW! Hawaii 2015-2019, SCOPE Miami 2014-2016, Juxtapoz Clubhouse 2015-2016, LA Art Book Fair 2016, and SCOPE New York in 2015.
